26 февраля, в Прощёное воскресенье, прихожане Абалацкого храма после Божественной Литургии по благословению настоятеля храма иерея Владимира Колтыгина собрались, чтобы всем вместе проводить Масленицу и душевно пообщаться. Это многолетняя традиция прихода – совместные трапезы в этот день и весёлые проводы Масленицы. Все готовятся заранее: кто-то готовит угощение, кто-то разучивает песни. Каждому хочется разделить праздничную радость с близкими людьми, друзьями, отдохнуть от житейской суеты. Для православных масленичная седмица – это время доброго общения и примирения с ближними, время прощения обид, подготовки к Великому посту, покаянию.
Силами прихожан и ребят из молодёжного объединения «Живоносный источник» столы, расставленные во дворе, были щедро накрыты: тут и блины, и ватрушки, домашняя выпечка, чай. В морозный день горячий чай очень помогал согреться!
Какой же праздник без гостей? В этот день в храм пришли воспитанники образцового самодеятельного коллектива «Верея» со своим руководителем Ириной Линдт. Они организовали народные игры, хороводы, исполнили замечательные русские песни. Фольклорный коллектив тесто сотрудничает с воскресной школой на протяжении ряда лет, участвует в подготовке и проведении, например, Рождественской ёлки, дня Святой Троицы.
